1. How much Ivory Snow should I use for washing?

Please refer to the label on the back of your Ivory Snow bottle for specific instructions. Ivory Snow is 2X concentrated, which makes it easy to shop for and easy to carry. It is also an exceptional value because you can generally use HALF the amount of detergent as you would with non-concentrated detergents.

2. What's the difference between non-concentrated and 2X Concentrated Ivory Snow?

2X Concentrated Ivory Snow gives you the same gentle clean while allowing you to only use half as much. And, 2X Concentrated Ivory Snow is packaged using up to 43% less plastic than non-concentrated Ivory Snow. So you get the same Ivory Snow clean in smaller, more convenient bottles.

3. Can Ivory Snow products be used in warm or hot water as well as cold water?

Ivory Snow is a mild detergent for fine washables. Generally, these types of garments recommend using cold water. However, you may use Ivory Snow in warm or hot water if the garment label indicates to do so. As with any detergent, use the warmest water recommended by the garment manufacturer. For best results on oily/greasy stains, use warmer water.

4. Can Ivory Snow be used safely on Whites, Colors and Dark Laundry?

Yes. Ivory purity makes it the ONLY gentle care detergent you need.

5. What does colorfastness mean?

Colorfastness is a term used to describe a dyed fabric’s ability to resist fading and color running due to washing, exposure to sunlight and other environmental conditions. Colorfastness is measured in terms of resistance to changes in intensity and hue, and to resistance to color transfer from contact with dry cleaning solvents and water. To test for colorfastness: in an inconspicuous area apply the product and let dry thoroughly. If color loss occurs do not use the product. If no change is evident proceed with cleaning by following label directions.

6. Does Ivory Snow contain fabric softener or bleach?

No, Ivory Snow does not contain any fabric softener, chlorine or oxygen bleach.

7. Can I use Ivory Snow for machine-washing or hand-washing clothes?

Ivory Snow is great for hand-washing OR machine-washing, however always check the care tag label to make sure the garment is washable.

8. How does Ivory Snow “pamper” clothes and “skin”?

Ivory Snow cleans without using harsh chemicals and rinses away thoroughly, leaving clothes virtually residue free. And that ensures a gentle, soft feeling against skin.

9. Which should I use - liquid or powder?

Liquid detergents are better at removing oily and greasy stains and are excellent for pre-treating stains. Powder detergents work better on mud and clay. It's really a matter of choosing the one that best meets your needs, but you might want to keep both on hand.

10. How do I get the best cleaning performance for my fine washables?

We suggest these steps to achieve the best cleaning results:

  • Sort your clothes before laundering and wash similar colors together.
  • Pretreat obvious stains.
  • Always follow fabric care tag laundering instructions.
  • Use the warmest water safe for garments (be sure to check care tags).
  • The way you fill your machine is also important.

    We suggest that you:
    1. Start the water in your washer.
    2. Add Ivory Snow.
    3. Then add clothes.

  • Use the amount of Ivory Snow recommended.
  • Use more Ivory Snow if you have very hard water, large loads, heavy soils or a large capacity washer.
  • Do not overload your washer or dryer.

11. Can I use Ivory Snow on Fine washables?

Ivory Snow is great on Finewashables. Not only is Ivory Snow gentle on skin, it's also gentle on fabrics. No need to buy a separate product for your fine washables when Ivory Snow offers tender care to your delicate garments. Make sure to always check the care label to make sure of care instructions.
